A lot of it is trailed down the hill into the pit next to the mound. The gradient of the pit doesn't come out on the other photo, but you can se a spread of stones.
Its weird though, am pretty sure its a few months old. But can't be animal, can it??
It is a bit spooky on there when it gets dark though, i couldn't find the way back to our camper one night as it was pitch black once [ i fluked it in the end ].
I was looking at some great fella!!! who camped up in the snow at a barrow on kinder yesterday in -9, i have the utmost respect for people like this as i myself have slept in conditions like this myself a few times, ilkley in -10 [ very very cold esp with the wind chill taking it down to fuck knows what ] and near appletreewick in 4 foot of snow, when we got up it had snowed some more and the whole tent was covered by another foot of snow, fucking brilliant as it had made the tent really warm, and we laughed when we took it down and saw the mud bath we had created where the snow had melted from our body heat, it's strange isn't it frost [fucking freezing], snow [ strangely warm ].
Ouch, that's worse than it looked in the portal photo. And the stone material from the hole seems to have disappeared?
Weird. !

No animal i know of, unless it's a super badger. !

I've camped up there several times. It's wonderfully quite and the sky is amazing.
