It's good - the area is amazing. We visited 7 chambered tombs, a Clava cairn, a long cairn and two round cairns in a walk of less than 4 miles from one end to another.

Carn Glas does seem to have been badly damaged recently though. Compare the earliest picture on TMA, with slabs in place.

North of Scotland Archeological Society cleared the cairn of scrub, bracken, etc in Feb of this year - rather well...?

Thanks Roy, that's useful. The clearance job is really good, but I think the damage must've come before that. The big slab isn't lying on the side in the earlier picture, or in Audrey Henshall's plan of the site. thesweetcheat Posted by thesweetcheat
