It used to be a very different profile. Most of the middle section of the hill has been removed by quarrying. http://binged.it/1DRMeRZ Not sure of the "sacredness" of this site. Might be news to most of Dumbarton's inhabitants past and present. Dumbarton Rock might have a more legitimate claim, but then again... who decides nowadays on what constitutes "sacred".
