GGAT have reported that someone has scratched a cross into the surface of Maen Penddu.
Not dissimilar from the cross on one of the stones at The Druid's Circle nearby. Seems there's still some people who think pagan monuments need to be "Christianised"
Did I tell you about my lifetime ban from Canterbury Cathedral from when I was caught scratching a pentagon on one of the columns?* And what's worse they now have my photo up behind the turnstiles at every other abbey and cathedral, it's like the blanket ban people get from pubs.
*Actually a lie. Whereas the moron who thought Maen Penddu needed a cross will be able to do it again wherever they go. I wonder if it's basic ignorance that the stones are way older than christianity, and are actually protected by law. Or whether it's some mad evangelist genuinely trying to convert a lump of rock. Very very strange attitude. They should have to lick it off, the gits.
