Happy New Year

Happy New Year to you and all TMAers.

Completely agree with what you've said; really good to see some new and returning posters since the relaunch.

My gears are definitely lacking at the moment, over a year with a foot problem has reduced my walking and site visits over 2024, plus a few non-health nuisances that are piling up and stopping me getting out at weekends. Maybe this year will be better.

In the meantime, I'm over a year behind with posting stuff, so I've got some catching up to do :)

Yeah.. loads of 'fitness issues' here, too. But then you just have to keep on doing what you can.

I keep on finding myself looking at the map and going "Nah, been there recently"... only to find 'recently' was 20 years ago....

Good to see Mr D has enlisted some Aberdeeshire help. Can't be easy, someone of his advanced years....

Cheer up.. I’m seven years behind - somehow haven’t been in fieldnote mode since my head was done in by divorce, ‘getting there’, still out stomping but work and subsequent relationships have meant the quiet time needed for writing and pic sorting etc, all that is needed for uploading new stuff, of which I have loads, has been at a premium. Plus being a bit of a technophobe has meant I’ve got lots of images trapped on old SD cards. Hopefully my beloved will help out there soon, but I think site revisiting might be needed in some cases.
As for this year, peak fieldwalking time now beckons now the snow has squashed the bracken down. I’m now nervous about going solo in the deep wilds though after close calls, falls. No more snow covered boulder fields, getting lost in fog etc. And certainly not another climb up a gorse covered sea cliff in the dark. I’m blessed that I now have company as long as the going isn’t too rough. Touch wood, the Kerry Ridgeway followed by a return to superlative Colonsay plus Kintyre beckon before summer and the bracken returns.. and yes, those pics with blurb will come. Happy New Year and good luck, TSC, Gladders, Drew and all.. let’s have a good one.
