Hi there, any help with deciding whether this is a genuine site [and if so what it might have been] would be gratefully received... Bruvs

I think you might have missed a bit out of that url Bruvs:

Not knowing much about either Derbyshire or chambered tombs, I'd not feel able to comment on those stones. Are there many such things in the area?
It seems positive that the archaeologist you mention could be interested in having a bit of a dig. Hope you find out more.

And welcome to tma! :)

Welcome & good stuff!

By no means an expert on Derbyshire tombs, but I've seen a few & from your photos, this would've certainly made me go "Oo!!!"

Definitely looks interesting!

Where's stubob?!

love

Moth

Well found ...

Hello Bruvs , some of the stones may be marked but not too sure , higher res pics would be good .

hi

Never been on that side of the Monk's Road, but there are certainly tumps up there (I think I added one called Cown Edge). There;s also quarries with weird blocks of stone. I'll try and have a wander up there on Sunday - is it easy enough to find if we get to roughly the right place?

OK, new pics and location etc now up in case anyone has any insights.... Ta!
