This is about a christian cist grave with upright standing stones, so is probably not relevant to news, but the following mentions a standing stone found during the Water Board's excavations, which stands between Trevalga and Trevethy.....

"Earlier this year a fallen standing stone was found at Quoit, between Trevalga and Trethevy. The 4.5 tonne stone is thought to have originally stood upright and is believed to be of later prehistoric to early medieval date.
It has been shaped from a large, local greenstone with a rounded base and tapering top. All the artefacts have been left in situ and covered securely for future generations.".....

Interesting find. I see the article references a "cist cemetry" in Tintagel churchyard. When I last went there (2000 I think) there were some large burial mounds in the churchyard which had never been excavated but were believed to be post-Roman.

Is this what the article is talking about? Have they now excavated the churchyard burial mounds?

The Trethevy mentioned here isn't the 'famous' one with the huge quoit.
Trethevey appears as a place name several time in Cornwall.

In this instance, the Trethevy referred to is more famous as the home of St Nectan's Glen than for anything else.

Just thought I'd clear that up. Nice find though Moss!
