What the hell am I doing standing on top of the mound of the hostages at seven o'clock in the morning trying to keep my hands warm while staring at the cloud bank in the distance as if by a miracle the sun will pop out for a few minutes...
Oh well I thought to myself, it could be worse, it could be raining. Cue rain and wind.
There was only myself and St. Patrick up on the hill this morning, there was a camper van parked outside but I guess the occupants didn't want a samhain sunrise at Tara a minutes walk away to spoil a good mornings sleep. I left then about 7.20am when the rain started to get heavy, I went home the long way and passed by Newgrange and Knowth and as a consolation prize I got a fantastic sunburst and rainbow at Newgrange (<a href=" http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/post/41433">Link</a>) though the rain didn't stop. The second drenching my camera got in two weeks, Nikon make tough consumer cameras! It will have a queit retirement though as the new D200 should be announced tomorrow.
So nobody missed much, though it was funny to watch sheep trying to run up the hill, they move both pairs of legs together, looks like the most awkward way to run - like a comedy three legged race. Thats all there is to say about it really.
