Reasons to be grateful ...

Travelled through Avebury this afternoon on my way to Devizes and noticed there was water flowing in the Winterbourne. It has been bone dry all through winter and spring - up till now.

They should move it to Cornwall June, plenty of water here :-)

That's great news dry as a bone a few weeks ago.

Water still flowing in the Winterbourne .. unsurprisingly really. Was over at Swallowhead Springs earlier today - everything lush and verdant, water flowing fast from the Winterbourne into the upper Kennett and the springs flowing too. I've never visited Swallowhead when I've had to walk through waist high nettles before (usually only go in early Spring).

The field between Swallowhead Springs and West Kennet Long Barrow is covered in ox-eye daisies ...very peaceful.
