Thanks for that Fachtna .. 'twas a sodden summer around Silbury that year. Rain! It never stopped.

Jim Leary opened his talk last Saturday by stating he was not there to answer questions about what English Heritage may be perceived to have got wrong or right and no one asked those sort of questions.

Unless he expects those sort of questions I guess, which could lead one to ask how he himself perceives what EH got right or wrong...

I was tracking down an id number for a site I'd put on the Northumberland SMR years ago and noticed that English Heritage had listed wall and walls at half a dozen locations in the parish. And one sheepfold. I've copied down their map references and will check them off on the map sometime. Unusual. None of it'll be mine, or I'd have heard. Probably the late Ted Ridley's and perhaps grant-aided by EH. (His wall was 'ok').
