Make of it what you will, but I think this throws an interesting light on why Silbury Hill was built as tall and as flat-topped as it is.

The crop circle is irrelevant, but the view of Silbury Hill from it isn't.

Mimics the landscape in all respects, eh? Still doesn't tell us why though.

Atb,

Trouble is, we don't know if Silbury was originally built flat topped or changed later.

I can't resist commenting about the crop circle images. They illustrate something that's been evident for several years. Ever since the expert circle makers announced they were giving up, "someone" with a tenth of their skill has been trying to fill the gap. Who? Well cui bono? It's quite a big industry.

The circles used to be things of wonder, now they look far more like vandalism. It's sad.

Imagine it white.

Cope reckoned it was deliberately made to a height that was visible from the Ridgeway from around Hackpen Hill southward. if it was white (even if it was pointy) it would have made an interesting locus. It does seem to exude stillness when the viewer is moving...

P.S. Crop circles will ALWAYS be vandalism.
