"Recently, engravings were found on the walls and ceiling depicting animals such as the European Bison, now extinct in Britain, female dancers or birds - depending on the view of the archaeologist - and intimate female body parts."

What is an 'intimate female body part'?

A Taint.
Taint her arse and taint...I'll get me coat

It's when she lets you know the relationship's over, and with a sad and intimate little smile whispers, "Let's remember the good times and part as friends." :-)

When we were in Creswell, I saw a triangle-thing and asked the tour guide what that was supposed to be, and was told that it was "female body parts".

so, triangles are female body parts.

Maybe this will help. The esteemed 'dictionary.com' defines the word 'intimate' as...

1) Marked by close acquaintance, association, or familiarity.
2) Relating to or indicative of one's deepest nature: intimate prayers.
3) Essential; innermost: the intimate structure of matter.
4) Marked by informality and privacy: an intimate nightclub.
5) Very personal; private: an intimate letter.
6) Of or involved in a sexual relationship.

I'm not sure that narrows it down much though.

I've been into Church Hole Cave four times, so far. The first two times it was described as a female pudenda, although I think pudendum is the correct term for one person's bits. The last two times, the engraving wasn't pointed out at all. I think it depends on whether or not there are any children in the group if it is mentioned or not. Anyway, it doesn't look like a pudendum to me.
