I there ANY way in which someone could get to the Giant to take pictures of the damage to the Penis of the Giant, in particular close-ups of the effect of the paint?

I think this is a case on entering the enclosure being justified in order to show the damage up close.

Cursus, I think its a fair bet that both the Giant and the Long Man are part of DEFRA agri-environment schemes. These are administered by English Nature and are designed to ensure land use on the part of the farmer that not only protects archaeology but also all aspects of wildlife. To me, brown grassland = an awful lot of dead butterfly larvae especially, in those locations, scarce blue species. Might be worth an enquiry.
