This looks pretty exciting...

A couple of questions -

Isn't it surprising it has only just been discovered? A while back, Four Winds said everyone from here should go out and look for such things at Solstice. Looks like he was right. Anyone have any likely candidates?

It looks to me that since the sun streams right into the chamber it might also shine through the hole in the back and onto the (replaced) carved standing stone at the rear of the tomb. How good would that be? Anyone know if its likely to?

The whole set up seems very Irish. Yes/no?

ear didn't those blue stones come from Wales?
Those Welsh must have had a thing about summer solstice eh?

It's a shame in a way, 'cos it's going to turn the site into a circus every June.

This month's British Archaeology also has an article (almost verbatim the BBC news).

:-)

Somehow I always thought that was the case. I'm sure I've read it somewhere! The alternative is that it crossed my mind while I was there. Oh well. At least someone's actually seen it happen.

Practically the whole of North-West Wales is very Irish!

Of course ...

... this also means that we just missed seeing the moon rise lighting up the pasage!
