Aurora

close

The aurora Borealis has been particularly active over the last couple of days. So much so, it's been said that it may even be visible over Southern Britain and Northern Europe (although we've had nowt yet, and the furthest South I've seen reports from are still waaay up North!)

I've been following it's progress, online, and thought I'd share this find, cos a) the location is relevant to TMA, and b) It's a gorgeous photo! :) (If a little blurry)

Hope you enjoy.

Beautiful, its like another planet.....

Ach... apparently the geomagnetic storm is subsiding, lessening the chance to see the aurora later... Ah well! Next time! :)

I am still smarting with indignation at the Kirkwall taxi driver who laughed at my question "do you get to see the lights much round here" as if I were a loony old Sasinack - he was very condescending and sort of "hahhd" at me before saying he had lived there all of his life and had only seen them once.
Obviously hadn't been looking very hard, had he?
Grrrr.......
