Well, she entered to poll at 450th on Thursday morning and is now at 102!

Two simple clicks will help give me some amazing news to give the planning meeting on Tuesday.

This is funded by the Ministry of Culture.

The site gets 190,000 votes a day.

This is an international effort please pass this round as widely as possible.

I normally use the following text:

My appologies if you have already seen this.

In North Yorkshire, there is a wonderful ancient sacred site called Thornborough Henges. See www.timewatch.org.

Unfortunately, this monument complex has been suffering from large scale quarrying and the public have been allowed to forget they exist.

TimeWatch.org have done a great deal to raise their profile and now there is a simple way that you can help:

Click on the following link:

This is a government funded poll of important icons for England.

Click on Yes in the left hand side voting section of the page.

Job done!

Optional test, depending on the recipient:

You might also like to know that the current top rated icon in this poll is fox hunting. Every vote for Thornborough (and we have taken it from entry 450 to number 102 in a two days) gives us a better chance of knocking fox hunting off the top.

Please pass this on to your friends.

Fortunately, there's also a NO button.

I love the descriptions in the timeline, apparently nothing happened north of Watford in prehistory....

Not even a photograph to go with it - so how does Joe Public know what he is voting for? Stiff opposition when you have got Andrex, glamrock and pantomime dames to compete with. I voted for the Routemaster, the pillar box and the K2. Nerds of the world unite!

Voted for the Thornborough henges.

And in support of pre-history a extra vote to Stonehenge. Though I don't think one can tick a box for that one.

I've voted! From as many PCs as I could... ;o)

Is this one o' them there ones that you can just go "back" with your browser and vote again, I wonder, or one where you need to clear your cookies to vote again and again?

As of yesterday morning, I pulled all my operatives off the Thornborough vote - we acheived our goal.

But Thornborough is still climbing and is at number 39. That makes it the second most iconic prehistoric structure in Britain - second to Stonehenge, which got automatic entry to the list.

It would be nice to add Stonehenge Visitor Centre and Nine Ladies to the list, so we can express ourselves regarding these also.

The Nine Ladies decision is undergoing delays and it looks like the land swap may be floundering. I tihnk we are going to have to do some stuff to try to apply pressure for this to happen.

Currently the decision is due to be made in April, but the camp have been informed that this may be put back.

Anybody notice what the top Icon of England is?

Thanks to all who voted
