i am a student with a huge amount of respect for history, archaeology and heratige, particuarly related to Cornwall and its prehistory.
I am currently studying in Cornwall for my Archaeology A-level and am interested in getting as much information and personal views, infromation, folklore and experiences regarding any sites in West Penwith. Epecially Chun Quoit, Chun Castle, Carn Gluze (Ballowal Barrow) and Kenijack Moorland sites such as Tregaseal stone circles, barrows and anything else you can think of.

I would also like any links to websites or book references that can provide more information on these sites.

If i get enough information from people throught this forum then i will be happy to post my completed coursework as a topic after the course deadline.
All sources will be referenced unless otherwise requested.
This is perfectly allowed by the exam board as a form of research.
All information will be greatly apreciated.
Thanks
Mirla

Good luck with your research Mirla - with such a courteous request for information you should get some good feedback from the erudite bods here :-)

If it's personal anecdotes you're after, then just take a look at the entries here for the sites you mentioned. There's a wealth of personal experience in the entries which you could draw upon.

Don't forget though, that copyright in the photos and text here rests with the contributors, so any direct copying would be frowned upon. Having said that, we're mainly a friendly bunch here so feel free to ask any specific questions and I'm sure they'll be answered.

*The* major reference work for stones in Cornwall is The Romance of the Stones by Robin Payne.

This lists every identified ancient stone in Cornwall, and gives background and description of each one (even many of the disappeared ones).

Here's a few links for you if you haven't seen them already-
