Has anyone come across references for the following in studying the wider avebury landscape:

1 Avebury as correlate for the Stenness landscape (this would imply Silbury as a symbolic representation of Maes Howe)?

2 Avebury / the Sanctuary / possible lost circle at Beckhampton as representaiton of Earth / Sun / moon?

3 The Avebury henge as deliberately created false ideal horizon when viewed from within?

I THINK, although I can't guarantee, John North considered the ridge of Avebury henge was always too lumpy to be a good horizon. Anyhow, he's one to look into.
