Hey Jane - long time no speak, I hope you and Moth are both well. I've been missing for months but have just noticed your field notes and pics from last month - FANTASTIC!!! I went through a phase of phoning the PR manager from Hansen every month but things just seemed to stall for so long.

Questions - how many of the rubble of stones that they managed to rescue now stand in the circle? Do you know when they're planning to open it to the public? How vigilent are the Hanson guys? I'm coming home this weekend and would love to take a look on Sunday.

Really brilliant that it's opened...sorry if I'm banging on about 'old news', I must visit here more regularly!

Thanks Jane, take care.

Hey there jacksprat
Yes it's good news isn't it! To answer some of your Qs:
1. I think there are 8 original stones back up.
2. They said they would organise an official opening for the village and other interested parties 'later in the summer' - so it probably won't happen this year now. If they DO manage to get their shit together and do it, I'll post details here.
3. The Hanson guys can be quite vigilent. Just don't get spotted leaping around on top of the bank like I was. Sneak in from round the bottom end of the lake -where dogwalkers regularly go anyway- and stay within the henge (even though they don't want people in it.) Wear camo.

So get up there and take a look - you're going to LOVE it!!!
