I've only just received word about the Devils Quoits Open Day which is TOMORROW, 13 September, at the Quoits, Stanton Harcourt, Oxfordshire. (Follow the signs to Dix's Pit Waste Disposal Centre at the west of the village).

Kick off is at 12noon and activities continue until 4pm.

I spoke to Granville Laws at Oxford Archaeology (who excavated the site) just now and he said that engineers and archaeos who worked on the project will be there, and will talk about how they managed to pull off this wonderful reconstruction, and what they found.

Sorry for the late notice about this, but I have literally only just found out.
Any TMAers who turn up are welcome at our house after the event for a cuppa.

*excited*

Ach! Thanks for that Jane. Won't be able to make it m'self but look forward to hearing how it goes.

Aargh!! I'm locked in an all day meeting tomorrow, in London :-(

I'll just have to find a dog to walk, next time I'm in the area ;-)

Sounds like a crackin' day out! Take loads of photos!

Gah, heading off to Cornwall tomorrow, no time to head upto Oxfordshire first... Have fun!

Is this deliberate, do you think? None of us can make it!

Or is it just a part of this general 'Heritage Open day' thing that's going on this weekend?

Any chance of finding out what the odds are on access in the future, either as a regular organised event such as tomorrow, or an ad-hoc "can I see your site please mister?" visit...
