Cheers!

I'm a bit of a Castlerigg fan to be honest - it holds a lot of good memories for me...

I'm gonna be seeing the New Year in up in Cumbria again this year. Mrs IM and I are now officially back together and have just sorted out a few days up there with some friends... I'm looking forward to that.

On the photography front - just before I found out about my redundancy, I bought and was given a bit of new kit. A few lenses for my old SLR, filters, new tripod, a bag *full* of old cameras (box brownies etc.) and a couple of medium format toy cameras (plastic lenses, mmmm!!!). So the New Year is gonna see a big push from me on the photography front, I'm even hoping to set up my own darkroom... hopefully I'll be able to do something with the results, maybe some postcards or even a little book...

Greetings from across The Pond!

I was first at Castlerigg in summer 1969. A profound experience, triggered my lifelong interest in stone circles. In some ineffable way I felt that I had come home. Returned thrice during the 1970s. Always magickal.

Reading some of the posts here, I guess things have changed. Back then, few if any signposts, no tourists - only encountered 1 other person during my 4 visits there. And sheep? The place was cluttered with cows. You had to be careful where you stepped!

Things change.....
