Just been up to Long Meg with a pair of 6ft step ladders in tow; over a bottle of wine last night we decided it would be interesting to see how different a site would look if photographed from above. It was pretty interesting and I got some shots which wouldn't normally be possible.

Mind you, I do wonder what the mini-bus of Japanese toursits made of it all!

The pictures are quite fascinating. Really interesting to see the top of Long Meg in detail. Every time I see your pictures from Cumbria I get all wistful and long to get back up there for another visit!

Greetings. You add a new dimension to things with the stepladderyjag suff. Good idea. Personally, I couldn't be arsed laggin 'em around, but I'm glad you do.
I, too, frequent Lancs, Cumbria, but all of my posts so far are of Cumbria, as I prefer the bigger hills there. I have a particular affection for Great Langdale (Langdale on this site), especially the stone axe factories, of which I have a great interest. The rock art at Copt Howe is worth seeing.

I've done the ladder thing. There was a time when Julian took one everywhere with him too. It is great to use, but I found that using the <i>wave the tripod around in the air above your head</i> technique works better and now leave the ladder at home on most occasions.

wow... Long Meg getting buses? :-(

The road isn't really built for that, even little ones. I hope they didn't hang any clouties.
