The army is above reproach don't you know ... if they want to build more dwellings at Larkhill no one (including English Heritage) will have the power to stop them. I've just been reading the Daily Mail's online take on the possible summer solstice sunrise sight-line obstruction. The curator of Wiltshire Museum, David Dawson along with Arthur Pendragon have expressed their concerns. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2579129/MoD-build-thousands-homes-returning-soldiers-BLOCK-summer-solstice-sunrise-Stonehenge.html To be fair, it seems the important alignment is the winter sunset which is in the opposite direction but summer sunrise is obviously better for a gathering.
