does anyone know why these stones havent been re-errected and/or know of any good reason why they souldnt be? Theyd definitely be easier to lift than the avebury stones

Is there a good geophysical survey of the site ? Are all the stones known to be there ? Is there an artist's interpretation of how the stones would look upright ?

i think the stones should stay as they are..its one of the reasons that the site is so appealing and interesting....if it ain't broke don't fix it!!! leave well enough alone!!! etc etc etc.
