Several things

Some of them were 'challanged' and BG was asked to qualify them, as some of them being were 'unrecognised' sites. He decided that he'd rather remove them than justify them.

BG said that he didn't want people to go visiting some of them while he was working nearby

BG said that the county archaeologist was going to see them and that it was no longer necessary to publish them here to draw attention to them

These are probably over simplified explanations and I'm sure that someone will correct me if I've mis-represented anything.
