Folks,

Does anyone know about access to this site? Tried to get there on the 30th, following directions from the Morgans' 'Rock around the Peak' book, but with no luck.

'Private Road'. 'Sling yer 'oook'.

Noticed on TMA that a coupla people have had issues getting there too. What's going on?

I remember going here many moons ago and having no trouble, but have heard some tales since.

Several other net based reports say that it is on 'private land with no public access ... permission must be obtained'.

The CA right to roam map also shows no access.

Sometimes you just have to jump that fence and run!!

Visited in May 2000 and don't remember any problems. If I recall rightly, I parked in the layby and walked straight up the steep slope at the back, on to the top of the escarpment and then followed the edge along until the circle was visible.

Don't recall there being any indication that it was private land. Shame if it is because the view from the circle is fantastic.

Go there most of the time, after passing Ladybower Pub go through bad bends wide sweeping bend to right with footpath to moors next to bridge. On the other side is small parking area 2/3 cars go through gate follow path through wood after leaving wood head up rocky bank on your left. On top thers a grassy path go right 100yrds on there it is on your left Brilliant place and you DO have the RIGHT TO GO THERE (its probably the twat of a gamekeeper thats been killing all the birds of prey that has stopped you he lives in nearbye village perhaps someone can CURSE him ?)
