I was speaking to the OPW today and it turns out that Cairn T will only be open on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings, 20th-22nd Sept and will not open on the morning of the equinox on the 23rd because apparently nobody shows up on a Saturday morning...

Well there you have it.

Bugger!

Was gonna say we could get the key, but not for sunrise I guess. Bugger twice.

P.S. Cian, I've tried replying to your e-mail twice and it's bounced back twice. Got an alternative?

Andy

Was half thinking of heading up myself, so are ye planning of heading one of the other mornings and what is the weather meant to be like?
I was half thinking of going to Baurnadromey on the saturday morning.

From what I've heard, it is possible to pay a fee to have access to Cairn T on a different morning, possibly Saturday or Sunday depending on the weather. If anyones interested let me know and I'll make enquiries.

I will probably head up there on the three mornings it is open anyway, whatever morning the weather looks best, or all three if needs be! It really is something to experience, if anyone missed the photos I posted last year you can catch them here: http://www.shadowsandstone.com/gallery/824678

Metcheck have finally updated their website as Hurricane Gordon becomes more predictable, looks like Friday is the best chance for a show (50% chance of 50% cloud cover) so who's going hill climbing at the crack of dawn? :-)

Do you think rte will be there tomorrow?

This was on my Goolge archaeology page......
