There's picnic seating too, so you can enjoy your butties in comfort. I believe the vibe they are aiming for is "meadow", so gorse will be no doubt kept in check with sharply pointed agricultural implements.
Yes it is a nice set of photographs that put the cromlech in context with the landscape, so diminutive as seen from a distance. Wonder if it was built in a woodland setting and that is why it looks so lonely...
They have also found a round barrow in the field and there may have been a stone circle (now gone) a little way to east, perhaps the Bronze Age people who built those mounuents were giving it some company :)
