Nice time to visit, lovely photo. Difficult to put a finger on why this is one of a lot of people's favourite site to visit, mine included, unfortunately also the target of those that don't care on too many occasions.
Thank you. I don't know, it just has a lovely atmosphere and I like the feeling of being enfolded in the woods there. Even the time we got chased by bullocks getting to it, it was still a really enjoyable place to visit. This time the fields had been used for a hay crop, so no livestock issues :)
Sadly when I attempted a visit a few years back a group of bullocks had positioned themselves by the gate giving access to the wood and I was too scared of trying to get past them so this one remains on the list.
Oh, how frustrating! You must try again, it's well worth it.
