Where have all the trees gone? It looks vastly different to when I was there 10 years ago.
I love trees to bits - proper 'tree-hugger' - but I guess with RSCs you really do want a skyline....
Yes a lot of the older photos of this RSC have trees right up to the stones, but now it stands in a clearing with the nearest tree perhaps (can't really remember) 10 metres away. I'm sure that changes the "feel" - Aikey Brae felt pretty different without trees when I went there the other day.
