The large standing stone between these two cairns, on Green Hill, can be seen in the sunshine from a mile away. It may be an erratic or it may have been transported artificially. It is of the nature of the stones in the Long Meg and her Daughters stone circle, nine miles away to the SSW. Very fragile ...

That looks like the real deal. What's the grid reference there then D?
The cairns and stone on Green Hill are at NY 646 495.
"Slaggyford, up station bank, to the top, take the Private Road, on the left, one gate open, one gate shut, usually. Park near there. Onto the Warded Way - right to the end, to the shooting hut. You can see Green Hill from there (it's that green one!) and the crap road now makes passage easier. It's all under Right To Roam access, without restriction"
There's another pair of cairns, with a stone between them, at NY 657 507 but, as the distance between them is greater than those on Green Hill, it's harder to get a sense of them as a pair. (This allotment is packed with little burial cairns). There's an altered pair of cairns with a stone between around NY 653 512, but they're not worth the trip unless you're already over on that side of the valley looking at the copper mine and cist.
Take survival rations and plenty of water. There's a strong phone signal except in the valley bottoms!
