‘Silbury Hill’ 20x24” acrylic on canvas. Forgive the little inaccuracies and artistic licence, it’s as much an emotional response as supposed to be representational. Managed to get back to see my dear Silbury after many years living up North, and it was a bit emotional!

What VG would have done if he'd lived around West Kennett.....
Vivid interpretation.
I really like this artistic interpretation of Silbury very much Nicki - you've managed to convey the speediness of the A4 without actually painting any traffic.
Well done Nicki, I drive along this road many times and am just embarking on a painting of Silbury Hill myself. Lovely.
Vibrant!
Thanks so much folks. There was SO much I wanted to get into this, the importance of the road, the curves in the landscape, the way the land kind of glows green at this time of year, Silbury had to remain the star rather than loosing her into the mid-distance, the way nature takes over everything man made at mid-summer, all vibrant and volumous, the mad colours you get in the sky, Silbury feeling solid yet ethereal, the vibrant energy of the scene, my feelings of warmth and excitement... Hard job! I got it most of the way there I think but I'm sure to paint it again! ;-) Silbury occupies a place in my heart few other (beloved) places do!
