
The vitrified dun occupies the left hand island – or is that islet? – Eilean Buidhe. This knowledge, gleaned from the roadside information board (A8003), immediately explains the collective name for the trio, such a significant event clearly – if not literally – seared upon local folk memory. Incidentally, the Bute ferry can be seen docked at Colintraive, beyond to the left. It seems (from the map) there is a cairn here, too, which I neglected to see.
