You may just about discern the former gunpowder mill chimney, top right. Note that a direct approach will lead you through deep bog... please bear that in mind.

If approaching from Hollowcombe Bottom, please note that the hinterland is SERIOUS bog to the point of being almost impassable. I gave up any pretence of ‘dry feet’ and simply waded.

OK, perhaps not quite in the class of Carn Blaen Glasffrwd visited earlier this year.... but imo just about as perfectly preserved a cist as one could wish to find.

The kist at SX626778 which is only around 70 metres away from the other one but is a much poorer state of repair.

Stennen Hill

The two kists on Stennen Hill are less than 100 metres apart and are within the Stennen Hill settlement.The best preserved of the two is only metres away from the remains of one of the houses.If you wish to visit the site the easiest way is to walk up the track through Powder Mills farm and go in a north westerly direction when you come to the end of the buildings,being careful of the damp ground around the old tin workings.
