I like the look of the statue. will make great photos. also gives your average person something to look for up there.
photos with the sun shining through it, or surrounded in fog will look lovely.
as for the carving. it looks too clean, but over the years weathering and sea wear will sink it into the rock and it wont stand out so much and will be a nice thing to spot when not looking for it.
