| There has long been a legend of a lost village here and more specifically a church. There is also a famous dragon legend associated with this site. It was excavated in 1958-1960. It was interpreted as a Romano British Enclosure. The general area around here is rich with archaeological sites from Neolithic to Mediaeval.
