You'll love it. It's a great place with some excellent but little-known sites.

Ballochroy is a must - if only because of its fame as an observatory site.

Kintyre also good for chambered cairns - Brackley and Blasthill amongst the best of the most accessible.

Try the entries for any of these sites and then Sites within 50km for some others that I have visited.

There are some cup and ring sites which I have not seen but can give you references for if you want. No stone circles.

When you get there, look out for "A Field Guide to the Archaeology of Kintyre" by Frances Lynch. Great value at a fiver.

There are no weblogs of my visits but I could put together a more detailed list if you thought you would have time to get round more than the ones mentioned already. Any type of sites of particular interest?
