hi thanks for the message. i asked my welsh speaking ladies that i know about this today, the one who was less versed in welsh said maes (pronunced mice apparently) meant house but the other lady who was welsh mother tongue said it meant more a place or field they had no idea about Howe though. The question of course is when did maes howe start to get called this ? has that always been its name or has it changed or evolved over the years?
