begin at the church at Llanwrthl south of Rhayader on the A470.
There is a fantastic 2m stone in the churchyard.
From there for the 5km or so up to the stone row along Rhos Saith Maen is marked by cairns, so it shouldn't be too difficult or dull.
If you are really mad keen for it, those mountains to the south of Clearwen Reservoir have at least 4 prehistoric standing stones not marked on OS maps, for which I can give you the grid refs for.
Before you get too excited either 2 or 3 of them have fallen.
