I've been thrown from a horse - a big white Clydesdale called Bridget - long time ago - no saddle, just clinging to her mane (not for long but) ...

I have left my steed in various, sometimes dramatic, ways, though incredibly I haven't broken any bones doing so. Plenty of bruises! I once fell and got knocked unconscious and ended up in hospital, concussed for 2 days. I have no recollection of how I fell, how long I was lying in that muddy puddle in a field or indeed how I got to hosp.

That magnificent stone at Kerloas has been carved on one of the faces, with a vulval image, shall I say. It's not erosion.
I presume you mean the large indent and groove running down the menhir, visible in this photo: http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/post/79685/kerloas.html

I wondered about that ...

I have to say everything about Kerloas screamed "FERTILITY" to me.
