Yes, its a cool little part of the country, one of the oldest churches (st peters-on-the wall), one of first roman forts next door to it (othona), and just a little bit along there is the site of the battle of Maldon, and now i can list the petrified forest as well. I had a closer look at the area around Stone mapwise, strangely enough there is a very long funny little road leading to nowhere in particularly running parallel with Stone Road. Its name ? Stangate Road ! I took a walk via google street view and found something interesting that could be something or nothing, bike expedition planned for the weekend. I appear to have the bug!
