Hi tiompan

No burials, no, but some cremations with part of a skull and parts of leg long bones.

I've done a diagram of Church Lawton Barrows, Monument A with the sunrises progression marked. I can't see any orientation at all, so it seems to me that it is a funeral utility, as defined in the origin excavation. It is odd that two arcs are defined, both with the same radius. It seems that the 'ring', or oval, was never completed, although there is evidence of cremation usage.

A bit of a mystery ! : )

Is there any way of putting a diagram on here ?

Dave ,

the suggestion is that the small remains of cremated bone and pieces of urn in the turf , was possibly because the site had been a mortuary house ,a funeral pyre is ruled out .
